Today and tomorrow’s Punahou Carnival snuck up on me this year. I don’t have any work in the art gallery–I was not invited–but I am still doing my volunteer bit for my alma mater:
On Saturday I’m singing and dancing hula with the beloved Punahou Alumni Glee Club at 1 pm in Dole Cafeteria where a plate of Hawaiian food can be purchased and enjoyed away from the midway.
We sounded pretty fine at rehearsal last night. We are the only high school “alumni” glee club on Oahu with 100% alumni for singers.
Then from 5 to 8 on Saturday I’m getting together with my Class of ’67 to serve up the food plate, same place. Our class is the second oldest class to work at the Carnival. Wow, that’s school spirit!
It’s gonna be busy because my pop star cousin Sunway will be singing with her band starting at 6 pm. She’s got a great voice. You should come to hear her.
So that’s Saturday, but you can go starting right now. The Carnival opens at 11 am on Friday.
For other descriptions of the weekend, just go to the search box in the sidebar at the right and type in Punahou Carnival. I’ve posted tips on how to navigate this annual island tradition. Have fun and hope to see you there!
